WindWhisper Renovation

WindWhisper is a small renovation of a back-courtyard that had been used for storage for over a decade. The intervention is minimal: a timber pavilion lifted on a curved concrete plinth, a new staircase that loops the courtyard into a continuous walk, and a deliberate overplanting that lets the existing trees climb back across the roof.

The owners — a retired couple — wanted somewhere to drink tea in the rain, and a place for grandchildren to read in summer. The whole renovation was kept inside the old footprint, with no new walls touching the street.
