SHUN House

SHUN House is a compact three-storey residence sited at the edge of a pine forest. The brief asked for privacy without sacrificing the long mountain view, so the design stacks two cantilevered volumes above a transparent ground floor — the upper boxes shield the bedrooms while the open base lets the landscape pass through.

Vertical timber screens wrap the upper floor, filtering southern sun into long stripes of warm light, and aligning the small house with the trees rather than competing with them.
