Project notes
The Villager Centre replaces a row of dilapidated shopfronts at the village's commercial spine. Programme is stacked: a covered market and small clinic on the ground floor, classrooms and meeting rooms above, with a long ramp that doubles as informal seating during festival days.
The roof is conceived as a continuous landscape — slightly folded to channel rainwater into a small reflecting pool — and the structure is exposed timber, made by the same carpenters who maintain the village's older buildings.
