Project notes
Selected as a finalist in the 2025 Resene Student Design Awards, organised annually by Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects. The submitted body of work brought together four projects — Tower PlayLab, Villager Centre, PaddyVerse and Soul Ferry — as a single argument about adaptive re-use and ritual space in rural China.
Judges citation: "An amazing capture of cultural dialogue and adaptive re-use in a Chinese village with broader applications beyond. This project showcases the ethos that the more abilities we have, the more responsibility to do something with them."
